Toke makinwa's story: a story of love or foolishness

I read Toke's story and I couldn't relate to it. In fact, I didn't understand why someone will stay in a loveless marriage and stomach all that depression for twelve years. Was it her love for Maje or something else?
Secondly, Why did she share the link for downloading her book? Honestly I think she was under a spell. From who? Story for another day.
One thing's for sure though, she's smiling to the bank.
That book is a best seller but it's weird that she narrated in present tense and I pitied her over the disaster that fell her family and the way her parents died it was sad and agonising.
